"It is lit from within, suggesting a night landscape, a fantastical de-materialized world containing an object and an action. You climb the seemingly precarious structure. At the height of the summit you look down into a churning sea of clouds. Your breath catches, your pulse quickens; you look down, then out, and then leap blindly into the void. . ."

Kurant and Wasilkowska interpret the city as an unpredictable, complex system whose collective understanding is composed of intersecting real and imaginary spaces changed through extremely rare events.

7 Curiosities

I translate the word curiosity as something that enables me to wonder and search for my personal attitude towards an image or a concept. Everyday i come across to countless images, textures and scenes within the city that capture my eye and make me think further that the surface, find a deeper meaning. It's just curiosity.

This art installation was made by Colombian sculptor Doris Salcedo for the International Instanbul Biennale in 2003. She used over 1,550 chairs stacked on an empty lot between two buildings.
